Nature Pilgrimage

Prayerful nature walk

A band of 22 adults and 2 children set off on a mini-pilgrimage from Frillinghurst Woods to the WheatSheaf in Grayswood.

Led by Jon Taylor and Fi Gwynn, the wanderers set off for a peaceful and reflective walk.
Jon taught us about the flora and fauna all around us—the pocket of peace is home to a range of wildlife, and the shoots of spring were just starting to appear. We matched swatches of colour to nature to draw attention to the details we so often miss in our busy lives. Fi introduced us to a different way of praying. During the Lenten Hours we have explored different ways of connecting with God, challenging the idea that you have to be sat with “hands together, eyes closed” to pray. Focussing our minds on what is around us, being grateful for what we see and appreciating the natural world is a form of prayer that we can all enter into. We ended our time with a chance to eat, drink and chat at The WheatSheaf.
