Church access
The path from the pavement to the church is loose gravel.
There is a small kerb at the lych gate entrance to the churchyard, but the double gate further down has wider, more level access.
We have a ramp up to the main door of church with stepless entry into the aisle.
Inside church
The church flooring is fairly even although the church is a listed building so age has inevitably taken its toll.
There is a wheelchair space near the font at the back of church if you wish to remain seated throughout the service. There is also space at the back of church to leave a folded wheelchair.
The chancel and altar rail are accessed via one step without a handrail, but Holy Communion can be brought to your pew – please ask the Sidesperson on duty to inform the priest.
There is an accessible toilet off the North Transept (off the Nave, turn left after the Choir Stalls!). There is one step without handrail up to this level, but a portable metal ramp is stored in front of the first right hand pew beneath the pulpit.
We have a loop system installed.
We have large print hymn books and service booklets.
Coffee after the service
After the Sunday Service, we usually retire to Grayswood Village Hall for refreshments. The Village Hall has stepless entry and an accessible toilet.
Church meetings
Where possible church meetings are held in the North Transept in church. There is one step without handrail up to this level, but a portable metal ramp is stored in front of the first right hand pew beneath the pulpit.
Choir Vestry
The Choir Vestry has stepless entry from the Nave of the church (turn right after the Choir Stalls!)
The Vestry is a large enough for a wheelchair. From outside, there are four large steps with a single handrail to the vestry porch and then a further internal step to the Choir Vestry.
Other useful information
We also have gluten free wafers available on request.
The church does not have a car park. The nearest parking is in the Village Hall Car Park opposite the church.
If you are in any doubt, or have any questions do please ask in church, or contact the administrator on allsaintsgrayswood@gmail.com
Future developments
Our new path has now been laid from both the lych gate and the lower double gate to the church.
Please let us know if you have any ideas to help us improve accessibility.
